Clan Alliances?

Is there a way that some sort of function could be added to the Clan aspect of the game. Being inter-clan alliances.

I've heard that there are plans in the works to make it easier to identify fellow clanners. Perhaps if this clan alliance was implemented, you could also flag allied clan members.

Just been thinking about this for a while.
